iLearning has two centres, one at East Ham and one at Stratford campus, with both centres located within the LRC.
The iLearning coaches work closely with your course areas to support the development of online materials to facilitate online learning.
We will work with you to develop study skills with the aim of enabling you to become independent in your learning, making use of online learning resources so your study can continue outside of the classroom.

You can have regular help with English and maths from one of our support tutors at both East Ham and Stratford campuses and we can arrange a suitable session in your timetable where support will be most useful. We work on a targeted programme to help get you back on track and you will have access to drop-in sessions for help with your coursework or to answer queries.
You can refer yourself or you can be referred by your course tutor at any time during your course. So if you start to show signs of struggling with coursework, English/maths support may be able to help you achieve your full potential.
How can we help you improve your English and maths skills?
We can help you with many aspects of your course including:
Spelling, punctuation and grammar to improve the readability of your written work.
Vocabulary, both subject-specific and general, to improve communication skills and your ability to understand coursework.
Using reading and comprehension to help you understand what is required by your assignment brief.
The skills required for writing reports, notes, summaries and essays so that you can express yourself clearly and concisely in writing, using the appropriate format.
Confidence with maths to improve your maths skills and ultimately work out maths problems independently.

Progress review meetings are crucial to successful learning. You will attend regular review meetings with your learning mentor or personal tutor to check that you are making the required progress, arrange any additional help or guidance and discuss any difficulties you may have. You will be introduced to your electronic personalised learning plan (E-PLP) during your first week which you will need to check regularly to keep updated with your progress.
Learning mentors provide tailored support, advice and guidance to all students on 16-18 course programmes. Mentors come from a range of educational and professional backgrounds and ensure students have an enjoyable experience at the College.
