What Are HTQs?


Employer-designed Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE). HTQs are Level 4 Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and level 5 Higher National Diplomas (HNDs)qualifications, equivalent to the first two years of a degree, designed to:

  • Equip students with practical, job-ready skills.
  • Offer a flexible pathway to skilled employment or further study.
  • Address industry demands with programmes developed in collaboration with employers.
