About the course

This T Level prepares you for a rewarding career in adult nursing and healthcare. You’ll gain the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours needed to support patients and health professionals across a range of care settings.

Through classroom learning and a substantial industry placement, you’ll develop practical experience in infection control, clinical observation, patient care and communication. You’ll also build confidence working as part of a healthcare team, understanding ethics, safeguarding and health promotion.

Equivalent to three A Levels, this qualification opens direct pathways to higher education, nursing degrees, apprenticeships or employment within hospitals, community care and healthcare support roles.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE profile: Minimum 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification (normally at Merit or above, where specified).
  • Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete any required assessments and attend an interview to confirm the right starting level.
  • Suitability: Positive attitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
  • English and Maths: Applicants who meet all other requirements but do not yet have the required English or Maths grade may still be considered for a place, on the condition that they study and achieve this qualification alongside their main course. Final decisions are made by the senior course leader.
  • Additional:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs including Science at grade 5, English at grade 5 and Maths at grade 5; DBS check required for placement.

Progression

Courses:

  • Higher Apprenticeship or university degree in Adult Nursing, Midwifery, or Health Sciences
  • Progression to higher-level qualifications in Health and Social Care or Clinical Support

Other:

  • Employment in roles such as Healthcare Assistant, Nursing Support Worker, or Clinical Care Assistant
