Entry requirements

  • GCSE profile: Minimum 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification (normally at Merit or above, where specified).
  • Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete any required assessments and attend an interview to confirm the right starting level.
  • Suitability: Positive attitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
  • English and Maths: Applicants who meet all other requirements but do not yet have the required English or Maths grade may still be considered for a place, on the condition that they study and achieve this qualification alongside their main course. Final decisions are made by the senior course leader.
  • Additional:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (typ. grade 4) including Maths 4 and English; interest in networks, security and data analysis.

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or Computer Networking
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Information Systems, e-Business or Information Management
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing or Digital Technologies
  • Degree Apprenticeship in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering or IT Management

Other:

  • Employment in roles such as IT Technician, Cybersecurity Analyst or Systems Support Specialist
  • Progression to specialist training or vendor-accredited certifications such as CompTIA or Cisco
