About the course

Advance your skills and knowledge in Barbering with this practical Level 2 course. You’ll develop the confidence, creativity and technical ability needed to deliver professional barbering services while gaining a deeper understanding of client care, cutting and finishing techniques, and workplace expectations within the modern barbering industry.

During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:

Entry requirements

  • GCSE profile: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (or equivalent), including English and maths at grade 3 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 1 qualification.
  • Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete an English and maths assessment and take part in an interview to confirm the right starting level for your study programme.
  • English and maths during your course: If you haven’t yet achieved grade 4 in English and/or maths, you’ll continue studying these alongside your main qualification.
  • Suitability: Positive attitude to learning, regular attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
  • Placement checks (if required): For courses that include a work placement, a DBS check may be required by the placement provider.
  • Commitment to professional appearance; a kit/uniform may be required.

This course is free for students aged 16-18. The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC.
