Course content

This course consists of core, mandatory and optional units. You will be introduced to a range of engineering aspects including:

  • Health and safety and working in engineering
  • Engineering materials
  • Cutting, forming and assembling engineering equipment
  • Electronics design and construction
  • Electrical Installation
  • Mathematics and Science in engineering
  • Computer aided drawing in engineering
  • Mechanical, electrical and motor vehicle maintenance

There will be a focus on English and Mathematics ,and working safely while developing your practical skills and knowledge of the tools, equipment, principles and processes used in the engineering industry.

The course aims to develop each individual student’s potential – we will help you develop your individual skills and abilities, and help you confirm your future ambitions. You will learn theoretical and practical skills of working in the workshop and electronics lab. You will also gain knowledge in engineering principles and applications as well as work experience skills.

Entry requirements

You will need a grade 2 (E) or above in GCSE English and Mathematics. An Entry Level 3 and Level 1 qualification in Mathematics and English would also accepted.

How much will this course cost?

This course is free for students aged 16-18. The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC.
