Course content
You will learn how to monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon from a managerial point of view. You will be taught advanced colouring and colour correction, cutting and styling skills for men and women’s, facial hair shaping as well as techniques and skills for creative hairdressing. You will be encouraged to be more creative and use these skills to individualise looks and high fashion techniques to suit the clients.
You will also cover areas related to the effective running of a salon from a business perspective organising promotional activities and demonstrations.

You must have a NVQ or VRQ Level 2 in Hairdressing and barbering, or relevant industry experience and you must already be working in a salon as a stylist.
You need to enjoy working with people and must have good communication skills, along with a good level of written and spoken English.
You will be invited to the college for an initial assessment to determine your suitability for the course. If accepted, you must purchase a professional kit and a uniform for this course.

How much will this course cost?
This course is free for students aged 16-18.
The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.
