About the course

This full-time course will focus on the development of your skills in English, Maths and IT.

On this course you will work independently in addition to working in groups on projects. You will also make presentations to the rest of the class.

You will have a tutorial programme to give you the best support with your studies and participate in enrichment activities at Newham College. There will also be the opportunity for work experience.

  • ESOL Award in Writing (Entry Level 3)
  • Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level 3 or higher)
  • Functional Skills ICT (Entry Level 3 or higher)

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you must be 16-18 years of age. You will be given an initial assessment at your interview to look at your level of English. This will help us to put you into the right class.

This course is free for 16-18 year olds.

Progression

When you have successfully completed the ESOL course at Entry 3, you will be able to progress to the vocational courses of your choice at Newham College. Some of our most successful students go on to study Pre-Access, Access or BTEC courses. You can also progress to employment within the vocational sector.
