Entry requirements

  • GCSE profile: Minimum 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification (normally at Merit or above, where specified).
  • Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete any required assessments and attend an interview to confirm the right starting level.
  • Suitability: Positive attitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
  • English and Maths:Applicants who meet all other requirements but do not yet have the required English or Maths grade may still be considered for a place, on the condition that they study and achieve this qualification alongside their main course. Final decisions are made by the senior course leader.
  • Additional checks (if required): Some courses need a DBS check for placements; kit/uniform or professional presentation may also be required, depending on the course.
  • Level 2 qualification in Women’s Hairdressing or Barbering; professional kit/uniform required.

How much will this course cost?

This course is free for students aged 16-18.

The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC.
