You’ll gain an introduction to key areas of biology, chemistry and physics, building on your existing knowledge and developing the skills needed to progress into further study or entry-level roles in science-related fields.
During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:

Entry requirements
- GCSE profile: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grades 9–2 (or equivalent), including English and maths at grade 2 or above; or successful completion of a related Entry Level 3 programme.
- Initial assessment: You’ll complete an English and maths assessment so we can confirm the right starting level for your study programme.
- Suitability: A positive attitude to learning, good attendance record and the ability to work with others. For people-facing or presentation-based courses, we also expect good communication and professional personal presentation. Willingness to follow lab safety rules and work safely in practical sessions.
- Ongoing English and maths: You’ll continue to study English and/or maths if you have not yet achieved grade 4.
- Additional checks (where relevant): For courses with work placements (e.g., childcare/health), a DBS check may be required by the placement provider.
How much will this course cost?
This course is free for students aged 16-18. The course fee for adults (19+) is TBC.
