Open Events at Newham CollegeEntry requirements
- GCSE profile: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (or equivalent), including English and maths at grade 3 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 1 qualification.
- Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete an English and maths assessment and take part in an interview to confirm the right starting level for your study programme.
- English and maths during your course: If you haven’t yet achieved grade 4 in English and/or maths, you’ll continue studying these alongside your main qualification.
- Suitability: Positive attitude to learning, regular attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
- Placement checks (if required): For courses that include a work placement, a DBS check may be required by the placement provider.
- Strong numeracy and accuracy skills; GCSE Maths grade 4 preferred for technical and finance routes.

How much will this course cost?
This course is free for 16-18 learners. The course fee for adults is TBC. The course fee does not include following:
- Cost of registration with AAT which is mandatory for each learner.
- Books for AAT level 2
- Paying for the exam and resits (where required).
