We are seeking to recruit a passionate and ambitious Health & Safety Officer, with excellent skills and proven knowledge to assist the health & safety manager to maintain a safe and healthy environment across the college campuses for our students and staff teams.
The Health & Safety Officer role reports to the Health and Safety Manager and will be responsible for supporting Heads of School, teachers and business support teams in relation to health & safety and compliance.
The role requires visits across Newham College campuses as well as some employer premises therefore flexibility around travel is essential.

We are seeking a health and safety professional who:
- Has a keen eye for detail and ideally has experience of education premises and health and safety, along with strong organisational skills.
- Is self-motivated to actively support the estates strategic plan and development for the College.
- Has excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Has experience of delivery of toolbox talks and supporting online health and safety training.
- Experience of incident investigation and production of reports
- Experience of health and safety audits
- Has a demonstrable commitment to CPD ideally TechIOSH level and a fire safety qualification.
- Has good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
