The Role:
Are you passionate about engineering and committed to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers? Newham College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Engineering Lecturer join our dynamic Engineering department. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across a variety of courses, while also acting as a course tutor for groups of students.
As an Engineering Lecturer and Course Tutor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment in accordance with college standards and awarding body expectations. You will play a key role in implementing curriculum and course development, creating comprehensive schemes of learning and work materials, and contributing effectively to teamwork in course delivery. Participation in the College’s quality assurance cycle, including course reviews and action plans, and involvement in course moderation and verification of assessed work, are essential to maintaining our high standards.
Candidates should hold qualifications in English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or above or a Functional Skills Qualification at Level 2, and at least Level 3 qualifications in a relevant subject area. A full teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or DTLLS is essential. We are looking for individuals with relevant and recent industry experience, successful experience in designing and delivering learning in relevant teaching/vocational areas, and a track record in quality assurance/improvement contributions.
