Prepare for a career in the built environment with this two-year T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. Developed in partnership with employers, this qualification combines classroom learning with practical industry experience through a minimum 45-day work placement. You’ll gain the technical knowledge, digital skills and professional experience needed to progress into skilled employment, higher apprenticeships or university-level study in construction, architecture or civil engineering.

During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:

• The science behind building design, surveying and planning
• Construction methods, materials and technologies
• Building regulations, standards and health and safety
• Digital engineering techniques and data management
• Mathematical and scientific principles used in construction
• Design processes and project planning
• Accurate measurement, surveying and setting out
• Sustainability and the environmental impact of construction
• The construction industry and its role in the economy

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

• Apply your learning during an industry placement of at least 45 days
• Work alongside professionals in surveying, design and site management roles
• Develop practical and digital skills using modern construction tools and software

• Prepare for progression to higher-level technical study or employment in the construction and built environment sectors

T Levels will offer students a mixture of classroom learning and 'on-the-job' experience during an industry placement of at least 45 days. They will provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door into skilled employment, further study, or a higher apprenticeship.
