Course content
This creative and practical course gives you the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a career in the media and creative industries. You’ll work on a wide range of projects, from animation and film production to photography, advertising and digital design, while also exploring the theoretical and analytical aspects of media.
Key topics include:
- Animation and film production
- Structure and analysis of the media industry
- Design using software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects
- Advertising, TV, radio, magazine and print media
- Photography, layout and design
You will:
- Create a range of digital media projects and products
- Produce films, posters, title sequences, animations and web pages
- Research current industry practices and visit studios and screenings
- Develop your creative, technical and communication skills
- Gain valuable experience through work-based learning and placements

- Subject-specific grades: English Language or Maths at grade 4.
