Develop your craftsmanship and technical expertise with this Level 2 Bespoke Tailoring course. You’ll gain a strong understanding of the tailoring industry and learn the specialist skills required for junior roles in bespoke garment production. The course focuses on precision, creativity and attention to detail — preparing you for employment or further study at Level 3.
During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:
- Tailoring tools, techniques and materials
- Pattern cutting and garment construction
- Measuring and fitting clients
- Hand stitching and finishing techniques
- Pressing, shaping and garment care
- Health, safety and professional standards in tailoring
- Understanding the tailoring and fashion production industries

- GCSE profile: Minimum 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (or equivalent), including English and maths at grade 3 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 1 qualification.
- Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete an English and maths assessment and take part in an interview to confirm the right starting level for your study programme.
- English and maths during your course: If you haven’t yet achieved grade 4 in English and/or maths, you’ll continue studying these alongside your main qualification.
- Suitability: Positive attitude to learning, regular attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
- Placement checks (if required): For courses that include a work placement, a DBS check may be required by the placement provider.
- Portfolio/skills evidence; attention to detail in garment construction.
