Level 3 T-Level - Health
Course content
If you are passionate about caring for others and want to make a difference in people’s lives, this Level 3 T Level in Health is the ideal qualification for you. Developed in collaboration with employers, this two-year course combines classroom learning with a substantial industry placement to help you gain the knowledge, skills and professional experience needed for a career in health and care.
During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:
- Working within the health and science sector
- Health, safety and environmental regulations
- Managing information and data in healthcare
- Principles of good scientific and clinical practice
- Core science concepts including cell biology, anatomy, physiology, genetics, microbiology and immunology
You’ll also have the opportunity to:
- Develop a strong understanding of the healthcare sector and its professional standards
- Provide person-centred care and support health and wellbeing
- Gain a deeper understanding of human anatomy, physiology, diseases and disorders
- Learn about infection prevention and control in clinical environments
- Apply your knowledge through a substantial industry placement (minimum of 315 hours)
- Build communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills valued by employers
- Progress to university, higher apprenticeships or employment in roles such as healthcare support worker, nursing associate or other health-related professions

Entry requirements
- GCSE profile: Minimum 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification (normally at Merit or above, where specified).
- Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete any required assessments and attend an interview to confirm the right starting level.
- Suitability: Positive attitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
- English and Maths: Applicants who meet all other requirements but do not yet have the required English or Maths grade may still be considered for a place, on the condition that they study and achieve this qualification alongside their main course. Final decisions are made by the senior course leader.

- Minimum 5 GCSEs including Science 5, English 5 and Maths 5; Level 2 applicants normally require Merit; DBS check required.
