Entry requirements

  • GCSE profile: Minimum 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above; or successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification (normally at Merit or above, where specified).
  • Initial assessment and interview: You’ll complete any required assessments and attend an interview to confirm the right starting level.
  • Suitability: Positive attitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work safely and professionally with others.
  • English and Maths: Applicants who meet all other requirements but do not yet have the required English or Maths grade may still be considered for a place, on the condition that they study and achieve this qualification alongside their main course. Final decisions are made by the senior course leader.
  • Additional:
  • 5 GCSEs at 9–4 including English and Maths; strong interest in cyber security and IT service operations.

Progression

Courses:

  • Higher Apprenticeship or Degree Apprenticeship in Cyber Security or Network Engineering
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing
  • University degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Digital Infrastructure

Other:

  • Employment in IT support, network administration, or cyber security operations
  • Progression to roles such as Cyber Security Technician, IT Systems Analyst, or Infrastructure Support Specialist
