You’ll gain an introduction to key business concepts and develop essential workplace skills to help you progress to further study or employment. The course focuses on hands-on learning, teamwork and communication, giving you a solid foundation in how businesses operate and succeed.

During the course, you’ll explore topics such as:

• Being organised and managing your workload
• Planning your personal progression and career goals
• Communicating effectively with customers and colleagues
• Presenting a business idea and developing enterprise skills
• Contributing to the planning and running of an event
• Researching local businesses and understanding how they operate

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

• Complete a one-week work placement in a real business environment
• Apply your learning through practical, project-based assignments
• Develop essential teamwork, organisation and communication skills
• Build confidence in Maths and English through functional skills or GCSE study
• Prepare for progression to a Level 2 qualification or an apprenticeship in business or enterprise
