Course content

Designed with key employers, T Levels are a two-year programme choice that follow GCSEs and could give you a head start towards the career you want. It’s a smart choice to start your engineering career which keeps your future options open. The T Level programme includes the following compulsory elements:

A Technical Qualification (TQ), which includes: core theory, concepts and skills for an industry area an industry placement with an employer

The Technical Qualifications (TQs) allows you to develop the knowledge and skills relevant to the Engineering and Manufacturing sector.

At the heart of the T Level is the valuable industry experience that will give you the edge over other learners who take a purely academic pathway

In year 1 of your course you will learn about the world of Engineering, materials and their properties, mechanical principles, electrical and electronic principles, mechatronics and engineering and manufacturing control systems. Year 2 will see you focus on your Engineering specialism- Mechanical Engineering. This year, you also do your industry placement in a position with a firm that really appeals to you and gives you the experience that will most benefit you and your future.
